The Legend of Rara Jonggrang alternative spellings Roro Jonggrang, Loro Jonggrang or Lara Jonggrang is a Javanese popular legend folktales from Central Java telling the story of love and betrayal, the knight and the cursed princess. It also explains the mythical origin of Ratu Boko palace, Sewu temple, and the Durga statue in Prambanan temple compound. The title RĂ„rĂ„ pronounced Roro is ancient Javanese honorific title to address noble maidens virgins or unmarried princesses, thus the name Rara Jonggrang in Javanese means Slender Virginâ.The Legend of Rara Jonggrang tells the story about two ancient and neighbouring kingdoms in Java, Pengging and was prosperous, and wisely ruled by its king Prabu Damar Moyo who had a son named Bandung Bondowoso. By contrast, Boko was ruled by a cruel man-eating giant named Prabu Boko, supported by another giant Patih Gupolo. Despite his unpleasant nature, Prabu Boko had a beautiful daughter named Rara story relates that Prabu Boko desired to expand his kingdom, and so began training an army and raising taxes for an invasion of Pengging. His forces launch a surprise attack on Pengging, and the ensuring war causes devastation and famine on both sides. In order to defeat the invader, Prabu Damar Moyo sends his son Bandung Bondowoso to fight Prabu Boko. After a furious battle, Prabu Boko is killed by the princeâs supernatural powers. His assistant, the giant Patih Gupolo, leads his armies away from the battlefield in to Boko Palace, Patih Gupolo tells princess Rara Jonggrang of the death of her father. The princess is heartbroken, but before she can recover from her grief the Pengging army besieges and captures the palace. Prince Bandung Bondowoso is mesmerized by the beauty of the mourning princess and propose marriage, but his offer is swiftly rejected. Bandung Bondowoso insists on the union, and finally Rara Jonggrang agrees on two impossible conditions first the prince must build a well named Jalatunda, and second, he must construct a thousand temples in only one lovestruck prince agrees, and immediately starts work on the well. Using his supernatural powers once again, the prince swiftly finishes construction and proudly displays his work for the princess. As a trick, she urges him to enter the well and when he does so, Patih Gupolo piles stones into it and buries him alive. With great effort Bandung Bondowoso escapes, but his love for the princess is so strong that he forgives her the attempt on his fulfill the second condition, the prince enters into meditation and conjures up a multitude of demon spirits from the earth. With their help he builds the first 999 temples and starts work on the final one. To thwart his efforts the princess and her maids light a fire in the east and begin pounding rice, a traditional dawn activity. Fooled into thinking the sun is about to rise, the spirits flee back into the earth leaving the last temple prince is furious when he learns of this deception, and places a curse on Rara Jonggrang which turns her into a stone statue. Prabu Boko is a giant Galaxy. He has a daughter named Roro Jonggrang. Roro Jonggrang. It borders with the Kingdom of Boko there is a Kingdom named Pengging also. One day the King of Pengging also want to expand the territory of his Kingdom, so he sent his son Bandung Bondowoso, led an army of attacking the Kingdom of Prambanan. Bandung Bondowoso who defeated Boko even killed King Boko. Bandung Bondowoso who else lived in the Palace. He fell in love with Roro Jonggrang and asks the girl to become his consort. Roro Jonggrang does not like to be the wife of Bandung Bondowoso who had killed his father. He was looking for a reason to be able to resist on it with delicate Pengging also Prince. Eventually he met Bandung Bondowoso and said, âI want to be your wife, but as a requirement you must make two wells and a thousand temples overnight.â Although the terms of the proposed Roro Jonggrang impossible met others, Bandung Bondowoso directly menyanggupinya. Prabu Boko adalah sebuah galaksi raksasa. Dia memiliki seorang putri yang bernama Roro Jonggrang. Roro Jonggrang. Berbatasan dengan Raya Boko ada sebuah kerajaan bernama Pengging juga. Suatu hari raja Pengging juga ingin memperluas wilayah Kerajaanânya, jadi dia mengirim anaknya Bandung Bondowoso, memimpin pasukan menyerang Raya Prambanan. Bandung Bondowoso yang mengalahkan Boko bahkan membunuh raja Boko. Bandung Bondowoso yang lain tinggal di istana. Ia jatuh cinta dengan Roro Jonggrang dan meminta gadis itu untuk menjadi permaisurinya. Roro Jonggrang tidak ingin menjadi istri Bandung Bondowoso yang telah membunuh ayahnya. Dia mencari alasan untuk mampu menolak di atasnya dengan halus Pengging juga Pangeran. Akhirnya ia bertemu Bandung Bondowoso dan berkata, âAku ingin menjadi istri Anda, tetapi sebagai persyaratan Anda harus membuat dua sumur dan seribu candi semalam.â Meskipun persyaratan diusulkan Roro Jonggrang mungkin bertemu dengan orang lain, Bandung Bondowoso langsung menyanggupinya. Ia mengumpulkan makhluk halus yang menjadi orangnya dan mulai menggali sumur dan membina Bait itu. Bandung Bondowoso dan orangnya bekerja sangat cepat. Dalam waktu singkat, mereka telah menyelesaikan sumur dan ratusan candi. Roro Jonggrang menyaksikan cemas dari afar. Dia berpikir keras untuk menemukan cara untuk menggagalkan upaya Bandung Bondowoso. Roro Jonggrang dayang-dayang memanggil apapun dan mengatakan kepada mereka untuk membakar jerami dan mengalahkan lesung. Api jerami yang dibakar untuk membuat suasana menjadi cahaya dan suara mortir makhluk halus juga mengejutkan gaduh yang sedang bekerja. Mereka pikir hari pagi. Mereka lari, meninggalkan Bandung Bondowoso dan sumur dan kuil-kuil yang belum selesai. Bandung Bondowoso yang mencoba untuk memanggil mereka kembali, tetapi mereka masih meninggalkannya. Roro Jonggrang mengalami Bandung Bondowoso dan bertanya, âwaktu Anda sudah habis, Bandung. Jika saya candi yang sudah dilakukan? âBandung Bondowoso adalah sangat marah karena ia tahu Roro Jonggrang telah menggagalkan kerja keras, tapi ia berusaha untuk menahan,âTentu saja Bait selesai. Jika Anda tidak percaya, silakan menghitung sendiri. âCandi Roro Jonggrang ditemani menghitung satu per satu. Ternyata bahwa Bandung Bondowoso yang telah berhasil menyelesaikan sembilan ratus sembilan puluh sembilan candi. âAnda gagal, Bandung. Masih kurang satu kuil lagi, âkata Roro Jonggrang. Bandung Bondowoso yang naik darah, âJika Anda tidak menipu, aku bisa benar-benar menyelesaikan Bait untuk Anda, Jonggrang seribu,â katanya. âYah, aku memanjakan selera Anda. Menjadi Anda, Roro Jonggrang candi, keseribu! âkutukan Bandung BondowosoThen Roro Jonggrang lain berubah menjadi patung batu sangat indah dan mengagumkan, batu-batu disusun satu setelah yang lain dengan sendirinya membentuk Bait itu, di sekitar gambar.
